What are Air
Soft Guns?
Air Soft Guns are faithful
reproductions of actual rifles and pistols. They shoot
plastic BBs that vary in weight according to the application
(approximately 6 mm diameter and between 0.12g and 0.43g
weight).
ASGs can be spring action, gas powered or electric (with
rechargeable batteries). They should not be confused
with compressed air guns: Air Soft guns have limited
power (maximum 1 Joule) and are harmless. In most countries
they do not require any sort of permit or licence.
What are Air
Soft Guns used for?
Hand Guns are generally used
for target practice or as backup weapons. Rifles
have a wider variety of applications ranging from target
practice to urban or woodland scenarios. Air Soft players
tend to have more than one rifle, and thanks to the
vast choice and all the available modifications, many
rifles end up as collectables and never shoot a single
BB.
How does combat
take place?
Air Soft games are exciting
"simulations of war" where one or more teams
(or squads) have a range of objectives to conquer (forts,
hostage rescue, searching for snipers, eliminating opposing
teams, etc). All Air Soft games air based on trust
in that when a player is hit he/she must declare himself/herself
"dead" and leave the game until the next objective
or game.
The serious Air Soft player also participates in large
tournaments with many teams and complex missions. You
will also often find that the bigger tournaments offer
spectacular scenary and choreography, with real military
vehicles and even helicopters.
What do I need
to get started?
Your going to have to get yourself
a rifle, a battery, a battery charger, some protective
gear (especially glasses, goggles or a mask) and some
ammunition (BBs). You can start off with a used rifle
and some teams even have spare weapons to give to newcomers.
You can use any sort of clothing but if your going to
be serious about playing then you cannot go without
a tactical vest, some proper footwear and a pair of
protective gloves. Browse our site, you'll find
everything you need.
Now you're ready to go. Have fun!!
